“This is the best food ever! Better than at home!”
While this is not necessarily something every parent wants to hear, it is music to our food service crew’s ears. Our experienced chefs work hard every day to provide a camper dining experience with three balanced, nutritious, and tasty meals for campers. And of course, they are still designed around what children like to eat.
Meals are served in our dining hall overlooking the rolling hills of camp. Buffet-style serving allows AstroCamp to serve a wider variety of foods to meet the appetites of every camper. We are also very attentive to the special dietary needs of our campers, especially those with food allergies. Are you vegetarian, vegan or gluten free? We can accommodate your dietary needs!
At the end of an adventurous and enriching day at AstroCamp, your child will come back to our camper cabins. This home away from home is where campers will share experiences with their bunkmates, take responsibility for cleaning up after themselves, and rest up for the next action-packed day. The comfort of your child is a priority in how our cabins are designed. Camp is much more enjoyable when campers have a safe and comfortable place to rest. In our 40+ years of experience, we have learned to take camper comfort very seriously!
health & safety
At AstroCamp, the health and safety of our campers is our top priority
AstroCamp undergoes an extensive American Camp Association (ACA) accreditation process every five years, requiring us to adhere to a rigorous set of safety and program standards. Our counselors and instructors have certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Waterfront Lifeguarding, and we have a medical professional (nurse or physician) on-site for the duration of each summer camp session.
Telephone calls to or from the campers are NOT allowed due to their busy schedules and our camp belief of camper independence. If you any concerns about your child, our staff is available to help you. Campers may be contacted using our email system, and we always encourage family members to send letters and postcards!
At AstroCamp we believe meeting new people is an essential part of the camp experience. We encourage you and your camper to think of camp as an opportunity to meet as many new friends as possible. Summer camp is a great way to develop life skills, especially friend-making skills. Our housing policies reflect these values.
